“Act As If” by Rev. Nancy Norman

August 20th, 2011
Listen Now width=

“Treat yourself as if you already are what you would like to be.”  Dr. Wayne  Dyer, from his book, 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace.

Know what you want to do, have an idea where you want to go and act like you are already there. To activate the creative forces that like dormant within, you must go to the unseen world.  We must give out attention to the invisible, beyond our physical world and create in our minds first.

“No Resistance” by Rev. Nancy Norman

“The happiness of life depends upon the quality of your thoughts. Take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature.” Marcus Aurelius

“If you choose to think that you have the right to be angry depressed and resentful because of the way you have been treated, then you also have the right to the disease, the lack, the limitation, holding such thoughts and feelings bring into your life.” Rev. Johnnie Coleman

As humans, we often become hurt, angry, depressed, sad and resentful when something or someone has upset us. We then tend to feel we have a right to feel that way and we sometimes may carry that grudge, that resentment or anger with us for a very long time, sometimes years. In his book, “The 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace”, Dr. Wayne Dyer  says that anytime we  feel resentment towards someone or something, we are turning the emotional controls of our life over to that person or situation to continue to manipulate us. By continuing to re-play and re-feel these portions of our lives we have given control of our lives over to others.

Louise Hay, in her work with healing, discovered that the resentment and  the unforgiveness people were holding was the cause of most diseases. These feelings of anger, and resentment form an emotional barrier to allowing health and peace in our lives.

In this podcast, Rev. Nancy Norman talks about what we can do to remove these feelings, allowing us to be free and at peace.

“Give Up Your Past” by Rev. Nancy Norman

June 1st, 2011
Listen Now width=

“Keep your soul open to God by denying the past or future claim upon your thoughts. You live in the now.” Myrtle Fillmore

The past is history the future is a mystery and the present is a present from God. In this podcast, Rev. Nancy Norman talks about the importance of living in the present moment – the now. By hanging on and reliving past pains, misfortunes and broken dreams we are throwing away the gift of the present.

Rev. Norman refers to the book, “10 Secrets For Success and Inner Peace”, and quotes the author, Dr. Wayne Dyer about the importance of giving up your personal history. “Your past history and all of your hurts are no longer here in your physical reality. Don’t allow them to be here in your mind, muddying your present moments.”

If we are bonding to the past, we are not only insuring that we will be immobilized in the presence today but we are preventing ourselves from healing. By referring to past struggles and using them as a reason for not being fulfilled today, we are giving all of our power to the past. Through the release of the past we become free to immerse ourselves in the now present moment. We can only experience God in the now present moment.

“The Silence” by Rev. Nancy Norman

May 27th, 2011
Listen Now width=

“All man’s miseries derive from not being able to sit quietly in a room alone.” Blaise Pascal

“Be still and know that I am God” Psalms

We live in a culture of noise, a constant bombardment of noise that invades our senses, keeping the silence at bay. Our culture not only avoids silence but is terrified of it. In this podcast, Rev. Nancy Norman referring to both the bible and Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, “10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace”, discusses the importance of establishing silence in our lives.

“All power has it’s birth in the silence, there is no exception to this rule in all the evidence of life. Noise is the dying vibration of a spent force, all the clatter of the visibility is but evidence of exhausted power.” Charles Fillmore

There is not only that outer noise that constantly surrounds us, there is also the inner noise. 60,000 thoughts a day, the noise of our minds is always clattering for our attention.

Stillness is needed for us to lead a balanced life. When we go into the silence, we are making a connection with God. As long as we are engaged in inside and outside noise, we can’t hear the voice of Spirit. We have to take the time to shut the doors to the outer world and listen to the gentle whisper of Spirit, for it is this voice of God that has the answers to all our problems and desires.

“Easter” by Rev. Nancy Norman

Listen Now width=

“On the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.” John 20:1

The Easter story is our own story right now. In this podcast, we are reminded that the Easter story is the story of our own awakening, the story of our remembering of who we really are. Easter reminds us of our own enlightenment.  We are enlightened beings and God’s resurrecting power is at work within each of us.

The stone has been rolled away, there is no more darkness, only light.

“Palm Sunday” by Rev. Nancy Norman

May 24th, 2011
Listen Now width=

This podcast from Palm Sunday is relevant through out the year as the symbolism of Palm Sunday and the Holy week in Jerusalem that was to change the world is explained.  Some of Jesus’ greatest teachings were given during this week.  Jesus’ riding on a donkey into the city of Jerusalem, while the crowds waved palm boughs triumphantly and threw  palms  and their cloaks down for the donkey to walk on is all is beautifully symbolic.

Palm Sunday is symbolic of the Christ entering each of us.  Christ, the light of God, the essence of God, entered into the soul of mankind as Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem. Life is eternally abundant and good. We are humanly divine and we should accept our magnificence.

Jesus came to raise the consciousness of mankind, He said the work that I do, you shall do and even greater things.  So, as we enter a new and lightened consciousness, we do so knowing that God is always with us, within us and always by our side.

“It’s Always Within You” by Rev. Nancy Norman

“You can’t give away what you don’t have. As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Dr. Wayne Dyer in his book “10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace” says that people who don’t enjoy inner peace and success in their lives have not mastered this truth. It’s impossible to give away what you don’t have,  if you don’t have love and joy within you, you are not able to give it away.   Dr. Dyer uses the example of an orange, when you squeeze an orange you get orange juice and only orange juice for that is what is contained within the orange.

When we are experiencing challenges in our life, we need to look within our hearts and minds, items from our own personal inventory.  What do we have within us?

If we don’t have what we want, we can change, we have the inherited   power to be able to do so. Negative appearances have only the power we give to them. We declare our own lack with negative feelings and talk. Only when we recognize that we are heirs, heirs to all the heavenly riches, then we open up our consciousness  and have all we desire in our lives.

“Don’t Die With Your Music In You” by Rev. Nancy Norman

“Do not neglect your gift.”1st Timothy 4:14

“For this reason I remind you to fan into the flame that gift of God which is in you.” 2nd Timothy 1:6

“When you are born, your work is placed in your heart.” Kahlil Gibran

“The world you live in is an intelligent system in which every moving part is coordinated by every other moving part. There is a universal life force that supports and orchestrates everything. It all works in perfect harmony. You are one of those moving parts.” Secrets for Success and Inner Peace by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

In this podcast, Rev. Nancy Norman talks about the music within us,  the joy, the desires, the creative talents that have been given to us by God for our greater good. God has given us the gifts of love, power, and self discipline,  but we are so caught up in the busyness of the world that we don’t take the time to listen.

Every major break through by humanity was because someone listened to their inner voice.  There is a universal life force that supports everything.  It is never too late  and you are never  too old to make your dreams a reality now. We mustn’t neglect these gifts that God has placed with us. We must open our consciousness through prayer and meditation and give expression through our thoughts, words and actions; do the things that give you joy!

“Have a Mind That is Open” by Rev. Nancy Norman

April 8th, 2011
Listen Now width=

“I wish to say what I think and feel today with the proviso that tomorrow I shall perhaps contradict it all.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“I always entertain great hopes.” Robert Frost

The greater danger is not that our thoughts are too high and we fail to reach them, it is that they are too low and we achieve them.“  Michelangelo

Open mindedness is important to allow us to grow and explore. As infants we showed up on this earth capable of infinite potentialities. Through out the years other peoples opinions have influenced our lives, friends and relatives,  society, philosophers and religious beliefs. If we are on our spiritual path, we may find that the beliefs we were given no longer feed our soul.

We come to everything in this world with an open mind. The mind of God, that mind of Divine intelligence.  We live in an expanding and growing universe and we as individuals must also grow and expand our minds.

Dr. Wayne Dyer in his book  “The 10 Secrets For Success and Inner Peace” states the necessity to have an open mind.  We  cannot continue to live with those old styles of closed mindedness.

We must open our minds to all possibilities  Resist any effort to be pigeon holed and refuse to allow any pessimism to enter our consciousness. It becomes increasingly important to have a mind that is open to possibilities, open to new ways of doing things. If we always did things the way we always have there would be no growth, no expansion. there would just be stagnation. We live in a vital universe that is always expanding and growing. There are always things that we are inventing.

We are divine creations, created to bring His gifts to the world. The ideas and expectations we have are gifts from God and must be developed and expanded.

“The Sabbath” by Rev. Nancy Norman

March 21st, 2011
Listen Now width=

“Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.” Genesis 2:2

This podcast is the seventh step and the last in this series on creation.  God rested on the seventh day of creation.

The seventh step is one of faith, trust and releasing  to God, the idea or project that we have been working on. After completing the six steps of the creative process and all the work necessary, we now take the time to stop our action and cease all personal effort.  All the preparatory work has been done. We  rest in the consciousness that it is the Father within who now does the work.  Everything that is needed to bring our idea into manifestation  came along with our initial desire which was inspired by God when He gave us that idea.  So now we relax and release with trust and  faith in God, freeing us from any doubt as to it’s manifestation. We know that nothing is impossible to God.  God can be trusted to bring us even more then we can imagine.

Go into action, do the necessary 6 steps of creation, then release it to God and trust in  His fulfillment.
