Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Rev. Nancy Norman, head minister at Unity of Delray Beach reminds us in this podcast of the tools we all have to enhance our lives by employing the spiritual practices we have been taught by Unity.

Our Universe is an expanding universe and there is greater and greater good awaiting us as we focus on making the most of  our powers, abilities and gifts. Life is filled with opportunities to grow in mind, heart and spirit every day. The laws and principles that we learn in our Unity teachings are tools to guide us in our every day lives, to experience the greatness that lies within each of us. We need to stop looking at others to provide our good and to use our tools of trust and faith; to quiet our minds and to listen to that still small voice within each of us.

“Prosperity” by Rev. Nancy Norman

Listen Now width=

“And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand.” Genesis 39:3

The teachings of Unity explain that the mind is our connecting link with God, or Divine Mind, and shows how the action of our mind affects our body and circumstances. In this lesson on prosperity, Rev. Nancy Norman, minister at Unity of Delray Beach talks about the effective power that thoughts, feeling, words and acts have upon our lives and illustrates her point with the story of Joseph. In all circumstances, Joseph did his best and in all circumstances he prospered. Joseph gave no power to the circumstances in his life, circumstances did not stop him. And we should not spend our time and energy asking why certain things have happened in our lives.  Instead we should decide what we can do to correct past mistakes and get on with building a prosperous consciousness. We should  dedicate our energy to a positive approach only.

We are the ultimate master of our own soul, it is not what happens to us but it is our ability to respond positively and creatively that determines our experience. We must visualize the good in every situation. When we do, it grows and expands. We must not be stuck with resentment and old feelings and thoughts that are doing nothing but keeping those jail doors shut for our greater good. It is necessary that we see the good and work towards it and give credit to God for the good in our lives. We need to acknowledge that, not for God but for us. God is Spirit, everywhere present, the one and only Spirit behind, in, and through all things, visible and invisible.

4th of July Moses by the Rev. Nancy Norman

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010
Listen Now width=

Rev. Nancy Norman, senior minister at Unity of Delray Beach, Delray Beach, FL traces the freedoms we enjoy in the United States back to the time of Moses’ exodus from Egypt.

The story of Moses and the children of Israel is the story of freedom and from that story we learn  the importance of the leadership of Moses and how his heart and mind were filled with the power and the presence of God. We learn about liberty and order and responsibility.

We have been given a fragile treasure and we must hold it dearly. All help must come from the God with in, which is what Moses and our founding Fathers understood. On this 4th of July let us remember that freedom is a fragile thing, let us honor it today and everyday and remember that it is as old as the initial books in the Bible. Freedom is the story that has been carried forth from generation to generation and it is up to us to never let it go. Treasure it with all your heart and mind.  Stand firm and let God work through you. Stand Firm and He will guide you through every difficulty.

“Intuition and Guidance” with Rev. Nancy Norman

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010
Listen Now width=

Continuing with the study of “The Game of Life and How to Play it” by  Florence Scovel Shinn.

Rev. Nancy Norman, head minister of Unity of Delray Beach, talks about intuition and guidance, how we often take intuition for granted. We are guided all the time by our 5 senses but sometimes ignore our 6th sense, intuition. In the busyness of our lives we don’t always take advantage of our 6th sense, the inner knowing, that inner knowledge. Intuition is that still small voice, our own invisible channel, our connection with God.
